In 2023, the Minnesota Forest Resources Council funded an investigation of messaging options to engage family woodland owners in northern Minnesota. Called the Headwaters Forest Landowner Project, the work wrapped up in March 2025. The project's findings are relevant to many working on private woodland issues including resource managers, Extension and outreach professionals, policy makers, and others. Project lead Eli Sagor will discuss the project's findings and implications.
