It’s Simple: Simple and self-paced - This training is user-friendly and self-directed. Study as much as you need to know, at the pace you learn!

It’s Fun: Have fun learning with interactive slides and questions.

It’s Official: After answering the quiz questions correctly and completing the training, you will enter your name, address and email. This information will be recorded by the Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative (forest resource managers) and the Minnesota Logger Education Program (loggers). You will also receive an email confirming your completion of the training.

This training is free for members of the Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative and the Minnesota Logger Education Program. The cost for others wishing to receive credit for this training is $45.

Certificate Course in Ecosystem Silviculture

The objective of this course is to facilitate the application of ecosystem classification to silvicultural and stewardship planning and to forest management operations, thereby supporting the maintenance or restoration of sustainable, healthy forest ecosystems and enhancing economic productivity in Minnesota’s forests.

June 2-3. Forest Management Guidelines Instructor Training.
UMN Cloquet Forestry Center.

This event is for natural resource managers who have volunteered to serve as instructors for the Minnesota Voluntary Forest Management Guidelines workshops. The instructors-in-training will learn about best practices for adult education, hear and critique each FMG field station curriculum presented by a seasoned FMG instructor, and understand how each field station curriculum fits into the complete FMG workshop agenda. A one-hour preparatory webinar on adult education best practices will be presented on May 28th.
