 Sustainable Forests Education CooperativeWelcome to the Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative calendar! Since 1997 we have alerted natural resource professionals to continuing education opportunities in a broad range of fields - forest ecology and management, wildlife biology, forest hydrology, botany, best management practices, technology transfer, human dimensions, and others. Certificate Course in Ecosystem Silviculture Our focus is ecosystem silviculture – using new tools (ecological classification) and tools as old as the hills (such as soil surveys and forest inventory) to meet goals of sustainable forest management. What's in the Calendar?
Most are forestry or forest ecosystem-related courses of interest to a wide range of natural resource professionals. Some are skills courses open to participants outside of the sponsoring institution. We emphasize courses held in our region - the Upper Midwest and adjacent Canadian provinces. Continuing Education CreditsContinuing education credits, using the Society of American Foresters grading criteria, are provided with every SFEC-coordinated workshop. Ideas?
