2018 Workshop: Adaptive Management for Climate Change

Workshop participants at Cloquet Forestry Center

A two-day mostly field-based workshop addressing real-world, adaptation-focused forest management. We will spend the majority of our time touring a variety of forested stands under active management. Site hosts and instructors will discuss management objectives, silvicultural prescriptions, treatment implementation, and outcomes in terms of multiple values and objectives including a focus on climate adaptation considerations. There will be ample time to discuss management alternatives, tradeoffs, and strategies to integrate uncertainty into silviculture planning.

Dates:  Wednesday and Thursday August 29 and 30, 2018
Location: Grand Rapids, MN area
Cost: $15 per person regardless of SFEC membership status. Offered for a reduced fee in partnership with the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science. 
CE credits: Information on contininung education credits will be posted as it becomes available.
