2018 Workshop: Forest Road Construction and Maintenance

Forest road at Cloquet Forestry Center

A classroom and field workshop for resource managers and logging contractors on practical considerations in the design, construction, and maintenance of timber harvest access roads. With classroom and field sessions, we will review techniques to plan and develop forest roads that are cost-effective and that perform well for their intended use. We will also address road maintenance and road closure and retirement options. The workshops are offered by SFEC and the Minnesota Logger Education Program.
