EcoSilv 2026: Field Silviculture Applications to Mesic Hardwood Forests

June 17, 2026 from 9:00am to 3:30 pm

Grand Rapids, MN area. Open to all, not just Ecosilv course participants.

A forester describes a mesic hardwood forest to a small group in the woods

This workshop will address silvicultural strategies for mesic-hardwood systems using the Minnesota DNR's silvicultural guidance as well as on-the-ground insights from local foresters. Throughout the day we'll talk through management strategies at all stages of stand development in these systems. Discussions will be varied, but we'll key in on managing for hardwood quality, dialing in the timing and extent of intermediate treatments, and more.

Cost: This event is open to all interested learners. $75 for members, $140 for non members, $40 for students. Current Ecosystem Silviculture course enrollees who purchased the whole block can use their discount code ecosilv2526 (all lower case).
